If our best bet for preventing the next Cambridge Analytica is to trust Facebook to defend our privacy, we are so dead. Big Tech says that we can't have interoperability because they need to be able to exclude competitors to defend us from bad guys...but what if THEY'RE the bad guys? Interoperability is fully compatible with privacy - and security through monopoly is no security at all.
