Hacksplain the planet!
How to enter
Participants must submit a video of up to 180 seconds consisting of themselves clearly explaining a difficult hack or concept of cybersecurity. The video must be sent by email to training@nsec.io with the subject [CONTEST]
before Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 23:59 UTC. The video will be reviewed by a group of experts, and judged on the balance between clarity and technical difficulty of the subject-matter. The selection process could be filmed and streamed during the event. Please see the video requirements below.
Prize
The winner will be given a free voucher for the online, high quality technical training Intrusion Operation by Forty North taking place virtually from May 25 to May 28 2021, for a value of 4000$.

Video Requirements
Encoding: H.264/MPEG-4 AVC (H.264 video in an MP4 container).
Resolution: 1080p (1920 x 1080)
Frame-Rate: 60 or 30 Frames per second.
Average Video Bitrate: 7500kbps or greater.
Audio: AAC Audio, Stereo, 320kbps or greater, Sample rate of 44.100kHz, 48kHz, or 96kHz.
Rules
Article 0
All submissions must be made inside the boundaries of the law. NorthSec will systematically reject any submission that does not comply with Canadian laws.
Article 1
The « Hacksplain in 180 Seconds » contest is free of charge, therefore no one can ask for money or any other service from the participants of the contest or NorthSec.
Article 2
NorthSec reserves the right to refuse a video of participants that does not meet the ethical and moral values it promotes. Any video that violates morality, public order, has a sexual connotation, is vulgar, incites racial hatred and violence, or reproduces positions that degrade the human race. Any video constituting an infringement of an intellectual property right, invasion of privacy leading to a violation of the premises and in general, contrary to the regulations and legislation in force.
Article 3
If one or more winners do not use the contest prizes, they will not be allowed to sell them to third parties. However, they will be able to donate them.
Article 4
Participants must be 18 of age or older.
Article 5
Prices will be valid until May 25, 2021.
Article 6
The video that allows the participant to compete must belong to the participant.
Article 7
Any entry that is inaccurate, incomplete or does not comply with the terms and conditions of participation will be disregarded and will result in the entry being void.
Article 8
The participant posting the content will automatically be the person entered in the contest.
Article 9
Given the current health situation, participants should not put themselves in danger to take the photo. NorthSec declines all responsibility in case of accident or any difficulty encountered during the realization of the photo.
Article 10
All videos must fit the required format and size explained above.
Article 11
The winner will be announced during NorthSec’s conference on thursday, May 20, 2021. The winner may be contacted prior to the official announcement in order to facilitate planning for the following week. In case of express renunciation of the Winner to benefit from his prize, it may be kept by NorthSec or put back in play without NorthSec’s responsibility being engaged.

Article 13
Protection of personal data in accordance with the following laws:
- Protection of personal information in the private sector
- The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act
- Participants have the right to access, modify and delete any personal information about themselves provided to NorthSec
- Participants may exercise this right by sending a written request to NorthSec: contact@nsec.io.
Article 14
Responsibilities: NorthSec cannot be held responsible if for reasons beyond its control or if circumstances require it and without justification, the contest must be totally or partially postponed, modified, cancelled or interrupted. NorthSec will not be responsible for misdirected e-mail or for any disruption of Internet communications or alteration of entries (network communication, network interruption, etc.).
